I'm really fascinated with tattoo but since I can't have it in this lifetime, I take photos of the people I meet and ask the story behind the art.
Today's tattoo is all about the Philippines and its heroes...
a colorful Andres Bonifacio on the left
and alibata symbol on the right.
It's KC Montero's way of being makabayan. Although raised in the US, this VJ hunk's pagiging Pinoy is marked on his arms. When I asked KC, "Why did you choose Andres Bonifacio and not Jose Rizal?". KC replied, "Well, my friend already has Jose Rizal, although I like Rizal, too, I don't want us to have the same tattoo".
The next makabayan tattoo si from a young lady I met while waiting a cab at Robinsons Galleria. She's based in Australia and is just in the Philippines for vacation.
Philippine map on her back to remind her of her mother land
where she plans to visit as often as she can.
