We originally planned to have our house blessing last December 8, 2013 to coincide with the twins 11th birthday. Unfortunately, there's still a lot to be fixed in our UK house. Our budget is depleted that we had to stop the contractor and get a new one that works faster at a lower budget.
A lot of our friends are asking when they can visit us but I specifically told John that I don't want any one to see the house in this messy and dusty state.
Yesterday, my friends Zen and Amy and their respective families came to visit. I was apologetic the whole time for having them over while the house is at this stage.
Looking at the children, they didn't mind the mess and the dust. All they could see was a place to play and have fun.
My childhood memories then flashed back. We didn’t have a lot of money to spend on things or even different experiences, but that didn’t matter. We had a lot of fun time playing piko, habulan, taguan, patintero, tumbang preso, langit at lupa and more.
So I told my self, why should I be worried if our house will not be as grand as we planned it to be, when all I should see is the happiness through the eyes of the children. Yes, there's still a huge work to be done here but this house is definitely a place to shape some really wonderful, happy, fun, and exciting memories for the children. Nothing else matters now.
“The sun illuminates only the eye of man,
but shines into the eye and the heart of a child.”
