The House committee on revisions on law approved a bill declaring Malunggay as the Philippine National Vegetable. The month of November of every year was also declared the “National Malunggay Month.” This bill was authored by Pangasinan Rep Gina de Venecia.
This small but terrible vegetable is rich in Vitamins C and A, iron and high-density lipoprotein of good cholesterol, making it an effective cure for illnesses such as diabetes, hypertension, inflammation, infections, cancer and aging issues (hmm, aging issues...gotta eat more!)
I'm so happy and proud to announce that I now have my own Malunggay, ang opisyal na gulay ng mga Pinoy at Pinay.
