My son, Rafael, was telling John and I to buy the bluray of the movie Life of Pi because it's nice unfortunately he was not able to finish it when it was shown in their school last February.
Nora and her daughters watched it ahead of us. Nora said it has many quotable quotes, ka-blog-blog ka nga daw sabi nya. Her daughters, Maizi and Jill, liked the movie too.
Of course by now many have already watched the Life of Pi movie, having won four academy awards including Best Director and Best Cinematography.
Two days ago, I was fortunate to get fresh DVD copy of Life of Pi from Video City. So how was it? This is a movie worth watching for the whole family. It teaches valuable lessons in life such as perseverance, hope, love. faith and more.
The Life of Pi has been a source of conversation during our brunch and dinner for two consecutive days. Juancho, who's just 7, still cannot grasp much of the underlying moral of the story. But twins Julia and Rafael, at ten years old, absorbed the wisdom imparted by the movie.
Below are some the quotes I jot down while watching...
"Believing in everything at the same time is the same as not believing in anything at all".
(ito ay bagay sa mga taong balimbing. Yung pangiti-ngiti lang, na okay lang ang lahat. Bagay sa mga taong walang paninindigan sa buhay. Do we see a lot of them in politics?)
"How can he find his way if he does not choose his path"
(much like the line, jack of all trade, master of none. Dapat alam mo kung san ka tutungo, if not, you'll get lost in thin air)
"Doubt is useful, it keeps faith a living thing,
after all you cannot know the strength of your faith until it's been tested"
