My siblings and I grew up not watching telenovelas. These telenovelas are now called teleserye. When I was in elementary Analiza and Flordeluna were the popular telenovelas. My late Lola Ebeng was a fan of the late Julie Vega, hence she watched Analiza. As soon as my father arrived from work, and saw us watching, he used to tell us, "naku, wala kayong matututunan sa mga yan, puro sampalan, sabunutan, iyakan at kung anu-ano pa. Pwede namang tapusin sa isang oras e ilang taon na yan!". That is why we never liked watching teleseryes.
For the past week, I'm still glued on the my seat even if 24 Oras is done because of Marimar. I must say that the first week was a success. I like the beautiful set-up where Alice Dixon and Zoren Legazpi met and fell in love. Ina Raymundo is a convincing contravida.
I do not know how long Marimar will hold my interest. What sure is that I'm just waiting for Megan Young to come out in the story. I really like Megan even before she won as Miss World 2013. Marimar is truly Tom Rodriguez' biggest teleserye project.
