Food-loving Filipinos have every reason to visit the province of Pampanga this month as MarQuee Mall, Ayala Malls’ premier destination for shopping, leisure and entertainment in the province, presents Big Bite! The Northern Food Festival on October 17- 19, 2014.

In partnership with Department of Tourism, Department of Trade and Industry, Angeles Tourism Office, North Luzon Expressway, Bank of the Philippine Islands and the Lifestyle Network, Big Bite promises a three-day celebration of all things delicious for tourists, locals and foodies. Cooking demos, food art, free food samples, live entertainment and more await festival goers.

Over 100 best and homegrown food merchants from Region I, II, III and the Cordillera Administrative Region are going to be featured at the food market.   From condiments, spices, to coffee and jams, to local favorites such as Ilocos empanada, bagnet, puto calasiao, there is something for every taste bud. Enjoy these foods or bring it home for pasalubong.
To celebrate the country’s growing street food scene, Big Bite offers a new aisle on the festival grounds that offer Street Food specials. These are the food delights that people flock to in every street corner, from ice scramble to strawberry taho, to binatog (boiled corn with grated coconut and salt), and sorbetes (local ice cream).

Kicking off with a marching band, fireworks and a giant sisig cook-off, the event also highlights Angeles City’s major contribution to Philippine cuisine - sisig. Hailed as the best pork dish by the New York Times, sisig has been celebrated in the province for more than 40 years.   Traditionally made of pork parts, mixed with spices, and served on a sizzling plate, sisig now comes in other delicious variants.

Art installations by award-winning visual artist Leeroy New and the Pampanga Arts Guild will be on display throughout the festival days.

Visitors will also have a chance to see their favorite Lifestyle Network chefs, Chef Sandy Daza of Foodprints and the lively Chef Sharwin Tee of Curiosity Got the Chef up close as these masters share their culinary skills and talent through live cooking demonstrations.

The festival also comes with the Big Buffet promo, where MarQuee Mall shoppers can get free food samples for a minimum P1, 000 purchase from any Marquee Mall merchant.

Wendy's Salad Bar Review

I was a working student while in college. I saved a lot to meet all my needs. One treat I give myself back then is a trip to Wendy's Salad Bar. Wendy's Taft was my favorite store, where I had many wonderful moments with my friends. Jeff Belsonda was the best to make the salad tower. We were like 10 to 12 friends who'd share but we still couldn't finish the salad. That's how sulit Wendy's Salad Bar then.

For those who grew up in the 70s, 80s and 90s, a shout-out for  the return of Wendy’s Salad Bar! At P199, diners are allowed one dine-in trip to the Salad Bar to fill their plate with ingredients, including dressing.

For my much-awaited reunion with Wendy's Salad Bar, I asked my Kumareng Jingle out.

The plate they gave us is round, as compared to the rectangular styro before, which easily breaks, making the salad splatter all over the serving tray.

Wendy's Salad Bar is available at select Wendy's store only (Megamall, SM North, oh, I forgot the other one).

Is it worth at P199? Yes, definitely! Jingle is a runner and mountaineer, she eats like a man! When she visits us at home, I cook rice like we have 8 visitors coming. We didn't order other food, our Wendy's Salad Bar plate was enough to fill our empty stomach for the whole night.

Jingle made her very own salad masterpiece from a bounty of fresh ingredients laid out for the picking: lettuce greens, cucumber slices, tomatoes, grated carrots, macaroni salad, gelatin (now enhanced with lychee), grated cheese, and additional options like potato salad with bacon bits, hard-boiled egg, and tropical fruits. Wendy’s now also offers three salad dressings—the classic Thousand Island, the all-time favorite Caesar, and the refreshing newcomer, Strawberry Vinaigrette.

I asked other diners, if Wendy's Salad Bar is a value-for-money.

Ivy henson and her aunt, Imelda Carreon, aunt. They said, "ok, sulit for sharing!".

Teresa Nicolas, with son, JP. Ms. Nicolas said, "sulit kasi mahilig sa salad ang anak ko".

Happy tummy, Happy Mare! Need I say more?

Likha ng Central Luzon Trade Fair 2014

It was not in my plan to buy anything for the house last Monday but Likha ng Central Luzon Trade Fair 2014 in Glorietta magnetized me. More than the creative and export-quality products they're selling, I enjoyed talking with all the wonderful people. Plus, buying in trade fair helps small community-based ventures, empowering producers and promoting sustainability.

In this booth I bought 2 tissue holders at P50 each. Orignal price at P60 each.
Dahil kinulit ko sila, nakatawad ng P20.

This table runner I bought at P180. Nakatawan din ng P20!

The table runner lies beautifully on my dining table
Salt and pepper shaker I bought at P180, nakatawad din ng P20!

Find this too nice, can't decide if I'll use it as tissue holder or for something else...
Special thanks to my co-blogger, Mac Vasquez, for accompanying me during my pag-iikot, pamimilit at pangungulit sa mga taga Likha ng Central Luzon Trade Fair 2014. Hope to catch this fair again next year.

It Pays To Read

Upon checking my Metrobank card, I was shocked to learn about my credit card due, a whooping P106,006.36! My husband, who's the auditor of the Mendiolables Company (lol) asked me what are the two P30,000 reflected in the bill.  I actually cannot remember what are those P30,000 for. John and I checked our records for the stuff we bought for the previous month.  We found out that we were billed twice for the aircon unit we bought at SM Megamall.  This why it pays to read diligently your credit card monthly bill or bills. By diligent reading and recording of all your transactions you can protect yourself from becoming a victim of  the same situation.

Good thing Aubrey, of SM Appliances in Megamall, immediately made a letter to Metrobank. Metobank, on their part, were also quick to returned/reflect back the P30,000 we were billed.

Unfortunately for my BDO credit card, I was billed with P989.88 last July, 2014. As of this writing, I still haven't received the said amount. Calling BDO, knock, knock...

There are several ways that fraud can occur on your credit card or debit card account.

“Skimming” is a technique where information stored on your card’s magnetic strip is stolen when your card is swiped during a transaction. Thieves are then able to reproduce fake cards using your stolen details. Once completed, these cards can be used to make purchases using your account.

Dishonest merchants can not only “skim” your card, but can also process unauthorised duplicate transactions using your card details.

Credit or debit card fraud can also occur when your card is lost or stolen and used by a third party to purchase goods or to withdraw cash from the card. Cards can also be intercepted in transit while being sent to you.

Protect your credit / debit card:

Memorise your personal identification number (PIN). Don't use the same PIN for all your cards, and don't choose your birth date or other easily identifiable number that you might carry with you.
Check statements and call your credit card issuer immediately if you see anything suspicious on your bill.
Do not let your credit card out of your sight at anytime: for example, at a restaurant, go with the card.
Card fraud can happen anywhere in the world: be vigilant when travelling overseas.
Always sign your card in ink as soon as you receive it.
Keep track of when new and reissued cards should arrive, and call the credit card issuer if they don't come on time.
Make sure your mailbox is secure, and that only you and the postal carrier have access to it.
Shred all credit card receipts and pre-approved credit card offers into small pieces before you discard them. Keep your billing statements in a safe place.
When you use your credit card online, make sure you are using a secure website. Look for the padlock symbol in your browser window.
Never give your card number to strangers or telemarketers who call you on the phone. Don't give your card number unless you initiated the call, and know who you are speaking with.

Tumbang Preso Movie Review

Tumbang Preso had its premiere night at SM Megamall Cinema last September 30, 2014. It was attended by its Writer  and Director, Kip Oebanda and some of the casts namely Kean Cipriano, Teri Malvar,  Dominic Roco , Star Orjaliza, Kerbie Zamora,  Ron Cieno and newcomer Kokoy de Santos.

Yeng Constantino graced the event since she is an ambassadress of the iFight movement, an organization against human trafficking.

Yeng's fiance, Victor Asuncion was in full support, too.

Yeng with fiance, Victor Asuncion

Let's get on with my review. Although the movie is about human trafficking, the movie showed the other side of the victims; that of intelligent, resourceful, thinking individuals that will not allow oppression to win.

Shot inside a cramp sardines factory, the characters were forced to work in exchange for a low income.

While watching the movie, you can't help but think, "ayaw ko na kumain ng sardinas!". Well, most of those beside me were actually saying that loudly.

The movie effectively got the attention of the viewers that human trafficking is still happening in this age and time. That it is everyone's duty to act and do something to help for the oppression, trafficking and slavery if not to totally stop, minimize their force.

The suspense as to what will happen in the next scene made me grind my teeth from start to end.

As always, Ronnie Lazaro delivered an acting that does not require too much effort.  He's so good that seeing his eyes makes you want to hate him.

Kean Cipriano, the music man, has such a great talent in acting. Saan kaya nya gustong magtagal, singing or acting? At least he's good at both.

The newcomer Kokoy de Santos has angle that reminds me of Rayver Cruz. At times, he looks like John Lloyd. As a newbie, aba, may future ang batang ito kung mapupunta sa tamang mga kamay.

Hmm, I don't want to review Star Orjaliza because she's my friend. I don't want to sound bias. But then again, why not! Her character, owner of the sardines factory, showed two sides of what most people project in real life. She tried to show compassion among her workers but is actually abusing and taking advantage of the sad and poor state of the other characters.  Well, Star definitely deserve a five star for her acting. There are lines na di nagpapatawa but she was able to convince the viewers na nakakatawa sya. Star as Madam is an epitome of great "pamagkunwaring" politicians, pretending to be nice in front of her workers just to make them work harder while she corrupts their innocence and freedom!

And for this, I know I deserve Star's adobo! yum, yum... hehehe!

I posted food photos from Mary's Kitchen event yesterday in FB, IG and Twitter. My friends kept asking where Mary's Kitchen is because they want to try the place. Here you go guys, Mary’s Kitchen is a cooking-serye made by Carnation.  The first in the Philippines, the series features Mary, a newly married housewife, dealing with day-to-day challenges of homemaking.  From cooking delicious new dishes for her husband Mark with the help of her intimidating (but eventually, lovable Mother-in-Law) Carrie to learning tips on how to keep her house in order.

We met Mary, the beautiful star of the cooking serye, yesterday at Commune Ph, in H.V. Dela Costa, Makati City, where she shared how she met her husband Mark and the many things she learns as a wife and daughter-in-law.

One of my favorite Chefs, Chef Mitchie Sison graced the event, as she guided guests and Mary in cooking Creamy Beef Salpicao, Lemon Chicken Spinach Fettucini and Salted Caramel Brownies.

Mom and Lifestyle Bloggers had fun time in the plating contest, where we all won. We took home my favorite wooden spatulas, yahoo!

Why watch Mary’s Kitchen? Now on its second season, the show will not only have new recipes tips, but it will also give you tips on how to have a beautiful house, a nice relationship with the husband, as well as, moms-in-law.

Watch Mary's Kitchen:

Learn how to cook and more like this ( I did this plating!).

Here are the 10 episode season and their episode guide:

1 Home Sweet Home, the Second Time Around!
Mary and Mark move in to a smaller house that is closer to Mark’s office.  Mark’s constant OT at work as well as trying to juggle running a household takes its toll on Mary.

2 We Are Family!
Mary gets a surprise visit from Mark’s mahadera relatives.  She frantically cooks a homemade meal only for it to end up less than perfect.  Luckily, Carrie comes in just in time to transform Mary’s dish into something incredible.

3 When the Budget Budges
The unplanned visit of Mark’s relatives put a dent on Mary’s weekly budget.  She calls up Mark, who is out on a business trip to tell him about the budget issue.  This leads to a slight tampuhan between the two couples.  Mama Carrie visits and gives Mary a tip on how to win Mark’s forgiveness.  She also tells Mary that she’s moving to the States—for good.

4 Peace Offerings
Mark comes back home from his business trip and brings Mary pasalubong as “peace offering”.  The two patch things up and Mary cooks a special dinner with Mark’s favorite dishes.

5 BFF’s forever
Mary’s BFF Bonnie drops by the house for a surprise visit for a quick catch-up. Mary realizes she misses having her best friend around. Mark arrives and talks to the two girls, realizing his wife has missed having a female around. Meanwhile, Mark secretly makes a phone call to a woman. Who could it be?

6 Mother knows best
Mommy Eva comes to visit her little Princess, Mary.  She surprises the couple with her new-age outlook in life.  She bonds with her daughter over cooking, and takes notice of Mark’s constant absence in the household.  She calls this out to Mark, possibly creating tension between them.

7 A New Career?
Mommy Eva encourages Mary to look into selling her crafts. Eva and Mary spend the afternoon with the crafts project while Mark whips up a surprise snack for the girls.  Mark makes peace with his mother in law.

8 A Taste of Sweet Success
Mommy Eva suggests that Mary try and sell her crafts online, just in time for Christmas.  Mary whips up a batch of delicious cookies, that she takes a photo of to post in her blog.  Immediately, people are starting to inquire about her baked goodies making Mary wonder if she still wants to continue with her crafts business.  The whole foray of selling home-made goods made Mary think about what she gave up to be a full-time housewife.

9 Mommy Eva to the Rescue
Mary is juggling orders for her cookie business and has forgotten to plan for her Anniversary dinner with Mark.  Meanwhile, Mark accidentally eats a box of cookies to be delivered, adding to Mary’s stress levels.  Thankfully, Mommy Eva secretly whips up a batch of cookies while Mary was napping.

10 Anniversary Surprise
Mary was able to pull through with her Surprise anniversary dinner with Mark with the help of her Mom and Bonnie. After preparing the meal, she gathers Mommy Eva, Bonnie and Mark for a surprise announcement:  She’s pregnant!

Wonderful Wednesday - Yellow Striped Tops

I had a wonderful time yesterday because I accomplished all my schedules - guested at Rise and Shine in UNTV in the morning, attended Carnation's Mary's Kitchen in the afternoon and celebrated Mama's 64th birthday at home.

But we all know that life can't be that great everyday. Today, I woke up with a heavy head, bloated feeling and more due to monthly period. Plus, I have a date with 'Bill'. This is the kind of date I hate because I just have to pay the bills.

This is a rare moment when I am not myself - I don't want to see or talk to people. I did not even shower my hair. I went out of the house without looking in the mirror.

On the way down the elevator, after paying the bills, three young ladies came in talking loudly. The sound they were making irritated the already irritated woman in me but I kept quiet. In the first place, the girls were just having fun conversing. The least I did was to check their reflections from the stainless steel and shiny elevator. Bigla akong natawa at nawala ang cranky, gloomy feeling all because the two girls and I were wearing yellow striped tops! My mood was lifted, took photos with Kaye Belarmino and Sheryl Aggarao, then headed (now with a smile on my face) to the next date with Bill.

Then, I saw the girls again outside, with their office mate, Jinky Perfecto.

Thanks Kaye, Jinky  and Sheryl, it's a Wonderful Wednesday because of you, girls!

KIDS CAN BE SUPERHEROES WITH TRICK-OR-TREAT FOR UNICEF

MANILA, Philippines – Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF is back to bring special meaning to Halloween and give children a unique opportunity to learn the value of helping others. Now on its third year, the campaign empowers kids to be superheroes by collecting funds in a special Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF box as they go door-to-door this Halloween. Since 2012, Filipino children and families have raised Php 750,000 to support UNICEF programmes for vulnerable children in the Philippines and worldwide.

In partnership with Toy Kingdom, this year’s campaign focuses on emergency preparedness. The Philippines is one of the most high-risk countries in the world for natural disasters, and many of those most vulnerable are children. Super typhoon Yolanda, which devastated much of Central Visayas last November 2013, affected 14.1 million people – half of whom were children. The money raised through Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF will help ensure that essential supplies like water and hygiene kits, education kits, and temporary learning and play spaces reach children immediately after a disaster hits.

“UNICEF relies entirely on voluntary donations to fund its programmes for children,” said Michelle Borromeo, Head Fundraiser at UNICEF Philippines. “No matter how small, every contribution counts and helps saves children’s lives.”

The Grand Event Launch was held in SM Southmall on Saturday, October 4 and featured games, activities and a special performance from UNICEF National Ambassador Gary Valenciano. To participate in the campaign, children – with their parent or guardian – can register and claim their free donation kit at any Toy Kingdom branch nationwide until October 31, 2014 or until supplies last. All donations can be turned over to any SM Bill Payment Counter located in SM Department Store, SM Supermarket, SM Hypermarket and Savemore locations nationwide.

Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF is also holding an online Create Your Own Superhero Contest. All boys and girls ages 4 to 12 and residing in the Philippines are invited to design their own superhero on a blank Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF box for a chance to win exciting prizes. To join, children – with their parent or guardian – must visit www.unicef.ph, read the full mechanics, and download the contest forms. The contest runs from October 4 to 26, 2014. Winners will be notified via e-mail and SMS.

Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF 2014 is made possible through SM Southmall, Toy Kingdom, SM Cares, Philippine Star, Nyxsys Philippines, Inc., Gerry’s Grill Southmall, Racks, Seafood Island and Mary Grace.

About Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF

Dubbed as the original Kids Helping Kids campaign, Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF began in 1950 in the US, when Philadelphia schoolchildren went door-to-door on Halloween, collecting money in decorated milk cartons to help children in need around the world. They raised a grand total of $17 – and kicked off a campaign that has since raised more than $170 million worldwide to help the poorest children receive medicine, better nutrition, safe water, education and emergency relief. Millions of children now participate in UNICEF’s Halloween-related fundraising campaigns worldwide, taking part in fun and educational activities that help them gain a better understanding of children’s rights and the challenges facing their peers in developing countries.

About UNICEF

UNICEF works in over 190 countries and territories to help children survive and thrive, from early childhood through adolescence. The organization is the world’s largest provider of vaccines for developing countries and supports child health and nutrition; safe water and sanitation; quality basic education; and the protection of children from violence, abuse and exploitation. UNICEF is funded entirely by the voluntary contributions of individuals, businesses, foundations and governments. Visit www.unicef.ph to learn more.

Earlier today at Discovery Center in Ortigas, I got to learn about a company that offers promising alternative careers to those who seek stability. 51 Talk is an Online ESL. The name 51Talk (pronounced as FIVE-ONE-TALK) may be translated as “I want to TALK” because in Chinese, five sounds like the word ‘I’ and one sounds like the word “want.” Their goal is to ensure that students have optimal “talk-time” during their lessons. Kids Costume in a Flash

I'm pretty sure that moms can relate to me when I say, children think of their mothers as magicians. Why? Because the kids know the mothers can make something in a snap. Well, this applies to my children for they'd come home from school and tell me they need costumes for this and that. Not that I'm complaining, I actually enjoy doing kids costume in a flash.

Who would have thought I'd be on television for doing such fun, simple and zero cost costume for Hearts and Craft Segment at Rise and Shine in UNTV.  Special mention goes to Kathy Kenny Ngo of Life is Kulayful for referring me to the show.

Moms and dads, watch this video and let the fun begin as you create your kids costume.

When Family Gather as One

I got a call from Tita Jo early in the morning  last Thursday that my brother-in-law, my eldest sister's husband,  is in critical condition. John and I picked up our daughter in school, John drove as fast as he could to  reach the hospital. Unfortunately, Kuya Ato was gone when we arrived.

I saw my Ate Rose cried as she kissed Kuya Ato goodbye. I cried too for I remember the many wonderful times we spent in their home in Bulacan. I cried for my Ate because Kuya Ato was her life. She devoted her life taking care and loving Kuya Ato. Kuya Ato was a diabetic. Ate, fortunately, is a nurse. She was there 24/7 for 24 years for him.

The last time my siblings and I met was in my 40th birthday party. That's exactly a year and 3 months ago. And then, Kuya Ato passed away. A death of a loved one often leaves a large hole in the life of those left behind. But losing someone is also the time when family gather as one. It is when the healing process begins. It does not matter now how many times we didn't meet over dinner or kapihan sa mall, what matters most is to be there for someone you love when grief and sadness touches their lives.

From left, eldest to youngest: Ate Rose, Ate Sheila, Kuya Bob, the prodical sister, Jubert, Ching

"A life may last just for a moment, but memory can make that moment last forever. Grief touches all of us. Missing someone isn't about how long it has been since you last seen or talked to them.
It is about being there at the very moment when your presence is needed."

The Last Day on Earth

$

The death of my brother-in-law has once again opened my eyes to the reality of life - that we are here just for a brief moment. Some of us will be lucky enough to live up to 60 and above. Others pass away at a very young age and at the prime of their lives.  My Mama is one of them. She died at age 43, leaving us behind - 43 year old Papa, six children and 3 grandchildren. I was 20 years old then. Mama's death opened my eyes about making the most of my time.  I give and love to the fullest until I cannot give and love no more.

Last night, because I'm feeling lonely, my children cannot sleep. They know and feel when something is bothering me. So we kept on talking about many matters. Then I asked them, "what would you do if it's your last day on earth?".

Rafael: I will confess my sins to a priest and say sorry to all those I hurt.
Julia: I'm just gonna lie down and wait.
Juancho: I'm going to pray so that I will live again.

We all laughed. Then the three ugly bears asked me, "How about you, Mom, what would you do if it's your last day on earth?".

Me: Well, I'm going to say I love you thank you to all the people who have been a part of my existence (pang Binibining Pilipinas lang ang sagot, hehe!)

Some of you would probably think I'm talking none sense, but hey let's face it, that is where we are all heading. With everything on the line, we don’t always make the wisest choices.  We would like to think that I'm okay, I'm alright, I'm gonna have that big house soon, I'm gonna buy that nice car,  I'm gonna marry that girl or boy.  The fact is we get too busy planning our lives; we're too tired enhancing our talents, beauty, finances and so on, that we forget to appreciate life per se; we forget to say I love you and thank you often to people around us.  And that pride and ego hinders a lot of people to reach out to those in need. Pride and ego also hinders us from saying sorry to those who we hurt most. Then when facing death or someone is facing death, we go back to the reality of life - we are here just for a brief moment. Why waste time hating one another? Why waste time trying to figure out how to get back at those people who caused you pain? Why waste time?...

Ikaw, what would you do if it's your last day on earth?

My husband and I likes spicy food. Each time we eat, we always have chili on the side. I bought siling labuyo last month in Cartimar so that we have a steady supply. Unfortunately, because I don't have a green thumb, my siling labuyo started to die so to make the most of it, I gathered it and made it into chilli garlic.

There were numerous events last October 11, I chose to attend Blogapalooza 2014 at SM Aura. Lyn and I were there before 11am to make sure we don't miss anything. We had a great time, we stayed til the end.

I attended all three Blogapalooza because of many reasons. First, I get to see my favorite Deejay, Host, and When In Manila Big Boss, Vince Golangco.

Second, it's the event where I get to see my favorite mom bloggers like Nica, Vix and Yvette. They don't go much to events like I do, so I take this opportunity to see them, chat as fast as we could and take selfies.

Third, I get to play and goof around like I'm attending a school fair.

Fourth, I get to meet new mom bloggers like Cheryl of Ma.Me.Mi.Mommy
Cheryl was my surprise angel that day because if she did not find me, I wouldn't be able to bring home the grand raffle prize - 28' Samsung LED TV. Upon registration all bloggers were given a number. That number has a corresponding partner. Those who found their partners proceeded to Eat Out Manila booth and registered for a chance to win the television. I was looking all over the place to find my partner but to no avail. Cheryl just popped and asked me, "what's your number?". The rest they say is history. Got to bring home the tv! Thanks, Mommy Cheryl!!!

Fifth, I get to meet celebrities and network with brand managers.

With Jaco De Leon (Joey De Leon's son)  and lovely Elaine of Zomato

With Kristine Dera and Kristyuper of  90.7 Love Radio

Karen Bordador of Sister's Secret

My fave Joel Quizon  of Flawless

I didn't look like just going to a market because my sandals looks  fashionable with its golden color and gold beaded design. More than the aesthetic value, Dr. Kong is so comfortable to wear. I went home not only with the grand prize Samsung television, more so with a happy feet!

Dr Kong Healthy Shoes Shop was established in 1999. They were the first to promote  Check & Fit foot examination and insole fitting service and provide free profession foot examination to people of all ages.  Dr Kong is dedicated in educating the public about the importance of foot and spine health to meet the foot care needs of people at different ages. Since all of us in the family are flatfooted, Dr. Kong helps us a lot in alleviating the pain and discomfort from wearing shoes not suitable for us.

If there's one profession I salute the most, it is teaching. I have a great admiration for all the teachers. With that said, I congratulate PLDT Smart Foundation (PSF) and PLDT Managers' Club Inc. for a successful PLDT Gabay Guro (2G), the biggest-ever tribute to teachers as it celebrates National Teachers’ Month in this year’s Grand Gathering event last October 5 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.

Over 20,000 teachers from different parts of the country attended this spectacular celebration for free which highlighted by a throwback concert featuring popular celebrities, including Ogie Alcasid, Regine Velasquez-Alcasid, Derek Ramsey, Jonalyn Viray, Dulce, Rachel Alejandro, Manilyn Reynes, Jessa, Dingdong Avanzado, Iya Villania, Alice Dixson, and many more.

2G has been supporting teachers and students who would like to take up the teaching profession for seven years now. All of 2G efforts are aligned with its six pillars, which are: Teachers’ Training that presents new modules on Emotional Intelligence and IT Literacy and Sustainability; Housing and Educational Facilities; Livelihood Programs; Broadbanding and Computerization of Schools; and Teachers’ Tribute, highlighted by the 2G Grand Gathering.

The Grand Gathering this year also featured the biggest raffle draws, with substantial major prizes that include a house and lot from Camella Homes, a brand new HAIMA car from Laus Group of Companies, an APE Piaggo three-wing van from Auto Italia, 10 PLDT Home Cyberya Internet Café setups, Retailer Phone Kits and Sims from Smart and Sun, and cash prizes.

Among the other raffle prizes are laptops from PLDT HOME Bro, laptop and tablet in-one from Microsoft, electric fan with oven toaster package from Fujidenzo, gift packs from various sponsors, myPad3 from myPhone, Cignal prepaid kits, quad core polaroid platinum tablets from PLDT HOME Telpad, Samsung tab 7, a trip for two to Hongkong, tricycle from Honda Philippines Inc., and a motorcycle from PR Savings Bank.

So far, 2G has awarded around 1,000 scholarship grants to aspiring teachers. It has enabled more than 300 scholars to graduate from its 40 partner schools nationwide. Five of the 2G scholars have continued their quest for higher learning and received Master’s Degree scholarships from the Philippine Women’s University.

In June this year, 2G and PLDT Hong Kong launched a scholarship program for Overseas Filipino Workers’ (OFW) children and dependents. They also sponsored 110 OFW teacher-candidates in their review and venue fees for the Licensure Examination for teachers.

2G and its partners have also donated some 28 classrooms to various public schools in the country, especially those that are located in the calamity-ravaged areas. It was the first organization to build permanent structures in the form of sturdy classrooms after the 7.2-magnitude earthquake that devastated Bohol in 2013. It was likewise one of the first responders in the rehabilitation of typhoon-damaged Leyte.

JC Premiere Products Product Review

I got hold of JC Premiere Products, namely Shuya sanitary napkins, Calvit-C and Organic Barley, last month.  I used the product for over three weeks now and my review of the above mentioned products below.

I am aware of sanitary napkins that contains ions because I used another brand in the past. I actually liked it until it was gone in the market.  I'm happy that Shuya sanitary napkins was introduced to me because all the benefits I like in a napkin is in this product.

First, its Active Oxygen make sure that no residue will form as secondary pollution because it has the cleanest-oxidants and disinfectants.

SHUYA day used anion sanitary napkin

Second, its Anion (Negative ion) helps relieve the pain and discomfort I feel every time I have my menstrual period. Anion is believed  to be a natural relief  against environmental and biological pollutants. It can also enhance immunity and anti-bacterial capability, relieve tension, reduce irritation, remove unpleasant odors, eliminate the effect of fatigue, improve endocrine and enhance metabolism.

Third, its Far infrared ray absorbs heat of body and outside air and convert into far-infrared, radiate to human body, improve micro circulation, repair damage, activation cells, thus helping a woman like me feel fresher and cleaner even at the most inconvenient days during our period.

SHUYA sanitary napkin introduces international advanced core technology with its 8 layers napkin. 1st layer, is a thin silk and soft cotton fast absorption surface allows the liquid to absorb three times faster. 2nd layer,  International advanced active oxygen & far-IR &anion chip. 3rd layer,  Air-laid paper wrapped. 4th layer,  Super absorbent polymer(SAP imported from Japan). 5th layer,  Professional diversion layer(can accelerate the liquid to proliferate rapidly, is helpful to flicker attracts, prevents the side to leak. 6th layer,  air-laid paper wrapped. 7th layer,  PE breathable leak-proof bottom layer and 8th layer,  Adhesive glue release paper.

Calvit C is a Calcium Ascorbate which is a natural form of Vitamin C. I like that it is gentle to the stomach.  I don't feel acid acid reflux after drinking Calvit C capsule.   My kids are taking Calvit C, too, and they don't make remarks like "I feel dizzy after drinking". They actually like Calvit C that we've replaced their usual Vitamin C.

Organic Barley Juice is a food drink that promises to provide every nutrient necessary for survival including proteins, all in 8 essential amino acids, highly alkalizing minerals and a whole range of vitamins.

I actually find JC Premiere  Barley too sweet. There's 10 sachets in a box, I only drank 2 of 10, but hey, that's just me. I'm not much into sweets. But let's go beyond the sweetness, maybe they can adjust its level. Why you should try JC Premiere's Barley Juice? It provides an easy path to loading up on youth-enhancing, muscle-building and immune-strengthening ingredients with one drink, so go ahead, have a glass, it might suit your taste to a well-balanced health.

You don't have to stop by being just an end user of JC Premiere Products.  This company actually offers 6 ways earning compensation. First is by direct selling or retailing, where you can earn 30% to 70% retail profit. Second way is direct sales commission. Third way is sales match commission. Fourth way is leadership commission. Fifth way is unilevel commission. And sixth way is franchise commission.

JC Premiere is not a fly by night company. They own Siomai King, Siopao Da King, Burger Factory, Noodle House, and Sgt. Sisig.
